4 UGA football players arrested for theft
One day before UGA’s spring football practices and four of its players get arrested for theft by deception. According to OnlineAthens.com:
…promising safety Tray Matthews, have been charged with multiple counts of theft by deception and were in Clarke County Jail on Monday.
Also charged are defensive lineman Jonathan Taylor and James DeLoach and wide receiver Uriah LeMay.
They were held in the Clarke County Jail on Monday night.
Matthews, a sophomore from Newnan, is facing at least three misdemeanor counts. Taylor and DeLoach are facing two misdemeanor and LeMay four.
This is not the way to start your football season.
Taylor was booked into jail at 8:41 p.m. Monday, LeMay at 8:56 p.m., Matthews at 9:06 p.m. and DeLoach at 9:22 p.m.
Taylor and DeLoach were being held on bonds totaling $3,000, LeMay on bonds totaling $6,000 and Matthews bonds totaling at least $4,500.
Damn. Damn, Damn!! This is just ridiculous! I don’t know what they were taking, but I hope it was worth it. This may cost them their college and football careers.
