A man, a woman and an arrest: Ray Rice and finacee arrested after argument at a casino
While they should be knee-deep in wedding plans, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice and his fiancee Janay Palmer are probably rethinking marriage after their recent arrest in Atlantic City.
According to the Atlantic City Police Department, Rice and Palmer were both charged with simple assault-domestic violence charges after they were seen on surveillance video striking each other with their hands.
This is not a good look! Rice’s attorney, Michael Diamondstein said this is nothing more than a misunderstanding:
“Ray Rice is high-character individual,” Diamondstein, who is located in Philadelphia, said. “It was an argument between him and his fiancee. We hope after the investigation, this will turn out to be little more than a misunderstanding.”
Really? Fighting is more than a misunderstanding! The Ravens organization is aware of this incident and released a statement:
“We are aware of the Friday night situation with Ray Rice and his fiancee. We have spoken with Ray, and know that they returned home together after being detained.”
Typical. They returned home. Together. I hope they get help and perhaps take more time with pre-marital counseling. If they’re already fighting like this before they get married, it won’t get better once they say “I do.”
I hope for now they say, “Let’s wait.”
