The referee substitutions made during our tournament last week are not in line with our company values,” Adidas said in the statement. “It was the wrong decision. We regret the situation and are looking into the matter to make sure our standards for sportsmanship, equality and fair play are met in the future. Supporting all athletes is critical to who we are. We believe in the power of sport to create positivity and bring people together. Importantly, any representation that we would compromise our values and inclusive approach for the benefit of any individual is inaccurate.”Well this comes a bit late. The company who provided the referees for the games have cut ties with Adidas, basketball fans are disgusted with what happened to a Division I referee, and people are perhaps getting a glimpse of what's to come when his son Lonzo Ball plays in the NBA. The good news is that Lavar Ball has no weight in NBA. Refs will have him ejected from the game if he acts the same way. It's going to be an interesting NBA season.
by Angela Davis| @ladyadavis| @jerseygirlsport When Lavar Ball pitched a fit and threatened to pull his Big Baller Brand team from a game at the Adidas Summer Championships, Adidas responded by pulling the female referee out of the game and replacing her with another ref. Now, they admit that was a mistake.
