After MNF Win Falcons’ Running Back Charged with DUI
The actions of professional athletes never cease to amaze me.
After a very looooong Monday Night Football game where the Atlanta Falcons took out Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, Falcons Running Back Michael Turner was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Turner was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail just after 5 a.m. ET Tuesday morning and was released two hours later on a $2,179 bond. The officer that pulled Turner over said that he was doing 97 mph in a 65 mph speed zone.
The AJC is reporting “The officer could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the driver and proceeded to conduct a DUI investigation, During the course of the investigation, the officer developed probable cause to charge Mr. Turner with DUI and speeding.”
The Falcons released the following statement late Tuesday morning: “We are aware of the situation involving Michael and are in the process of gathering more information. Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time.”
