Another Dallas Cowboy player suspected of drunk driving
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Jay Ratliff is free on bond after being arrested on Tuesday for suspicion of drunk driving. Ratliff’s truck sideswiped a semi-truck on Hwy 114 in Grapevine, TX, 20 miles north of Dallas.
The 31-year-old failed a field sobriety test, refused a breath test, and according to Grapevine police Officer Sam Shemwell, police obtained a blood sample for testing. The case will go before the district attorney’s office in Ft. Worth, and if convicted Ratliff could get six months in jail.
Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple declined comment.
This falls into the category of an INCREDIBLY stupid decision. About six weeks ago Cowboys practice squad member Jerry Brown was killed in a drunk driving accident when the car he was riding in flipped and crashed. That car was being driven by Cowboys nose tackle and friend, Josh Brent who has since been indicted on an intoxicated manslaughter charge. The charge carries a sentence ranging from 20 years to just probation.
I don’t know what else to say. It seems some players are determined to make the same bad choices.
They should be ready to face the bad consequences.
I wonder what Jerry Jones is gonna say or do about this?
