Brandon Marshall wants to recognize Mental Health Awareness Week with green shoes; NFL says “No!”

Chicago Bears wide-receiver Brandon Marshall wanted to recognize and bring awareness to mental health. He wanted to wear green shoes in Thursday night's game in honor of Mental Health Awareness Week, but the NFL said that if he decided to wear the shoes he would not be allowed on the field. Miarshall was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in 2011, and since then has been on the frontlines to bring awareness and raise money for mental health issues. Even though the NFL stopped his plans, the attention this story has received has raised money for the cause anyway, probably more money than if he'd just wore the shoes. Thursday night's game against the New York Giant's will still be in pink.  The only other interesting event would be if the Giants pulled out a win. Your Jersey Girlfriend,  ~Angela Davis
