Brooklyn Nets reach out to Phil Jackson for coaching job

After the Brooklyn Nets lost their playoff run in the first round to the Chicago Bulls, it was no surprise that coach P.J. Carlesimo got his pink slip. An anonymous source with the team said the Nets have reached out to legendary coach Phil Jackson to fill the vacancy. Is this possible? Could Phil Jackson return to coaching? Not likely. Jackson has already said that he'd like to return in a managerial role, not in the stressful coaching role. Still, it's worth a try. The source also confirmed that  Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw is also up for consideration. Shaw, who worked under Jackson looks like a sound choice, but he is now focused on the Pacers, who are trying to get to the conference championships. According to NBA.com and USATodaySports.com the team is also looking at Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown. Whoever the Nets end up with, they also need to consider to players on the team. I'm still challenging the notion that Joe Johnson is worth the money they're paying him. What do you think? Your Jersey Girlfriend,  ~Angela Davis
