Yesterday, after much speculation Terrell Ownes signed with his third team in three years, the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals and receiver Terrell Owens agreed to a two-year, $2 million deal, which also includes another $2 million in incentives that are attached to stat requirements that T.O. has been able to produce in past years.
Wow…two big names on one team, doesn’t this sound familiar, very Lebron-Bosh-Wade, but without all of the media hype. The big question is who’s going to get the ball, how’s this going to work, will T.O. wear #81, will this actually lead to a Super Bowl? All great questions, and according to Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, ‘it’s going to take some getting used to’. (more…)
In a comment last week T.O. said, “People think that they have that perception about me. Of course. Any receiver … what receiver that’s out there that’s had great stats, great careers, that didn’t want the ball? I’m no different. “But of course — I mean, you’ve got Brady there. You’ve got the great mind, coach (Bill) Belichick. “I’m like LeBron (James). I can go there and take less of a role, take less money and put everything aside and make it work.”
At the age of 36, which is no spring chicken, Owens is approaching his 15th year in the league, but with no home. But according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, Owens will have a deal in the next couple of weeks because there are about five teams on his radar interested in Owens and his skills. Now I give Drew an “A” for effort, but do you seriously believe that there are five teams that are taking a real hard look at T.O. – I Doubt It! (more…)

Well if you’ve been living under a rock, I can honestly say that watching the free agency antics of LeBron James traveling from team to team is like a pimp looking for his next “employees” has without a doubt been entertaining.
Before the free agency period started you had owners like Mark Cuban get slapped with a $100,000 fine for just talking about his desire to have LeBron play for his Dallas Mavericks. Then you had players like Dwayne Wade (still of the Miami Heat) putting together a ‘free agency summit’ with various top free agents coming together to discuss their plan of attack. Unfortunately those plans fizzled when players took a real hard look at what they could be possibly giving up when partnering with others on their same level if not higher; the mean green…MONEY!
