Dallas Cowboys’ Tyron Smith Calls 911 on Family Members Who Want Money

I guess somebody DIDN'T watch ESPN's 30 for 30: Broke. Well--it seems Tryon Smith's family members didn't. According to CBSSports.com and the Dallas Morning News reports that Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith has been harassed by members of his family who want a piece of Smith's fortune. It seems they showed up to his house asking "to hold" some of his approximately $12.5 million earnings. According to the report:

"The Morning Newswrites that Smith gave his family “a substantial amount of money” after he signed that contract, but reportedly, some members want more. As the newspaper reports, Smith filed a protective order against his mother and stepfather during the summer to keep them from contacting him."

How sad! You would think his success, which I hope his parents had a hand in would bring them together. The love of money is the root of all evil, and it's truly sad to see it destroy the things that really matter.

I hope they can repair the relationship because the most important things in life aren't things.
