New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning says that he expects the next “Manning Bowl” to occur early in the season. With the anticipation for the release of the 2013 -2014 NFL schedule, it’s not just fans who are looking forward to some key games. Manning says, the jousting between his brother, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has already started:
“We haven’t talked about it a whole lot. Just joking and jabs at each other. Obviously, anytime you play your brother, when I play Peyton in a game, it is special and it is unique.”
But they don’t take it seriously. Underneath all the rivalry, there is a brotherly love.
“I cherish those moments, whether before the game, looking across the field during the National Anthem and seeing my big brother, seeing him at the coin flip, those are great moments we’ll cherish and hopefully the Giants can get a win for once.”
So when will the game actually be? Eli says he’s not sure when, but suspects he’s right.
“Not the first game of the season so I don’t have to talk about it for the next four months,” he said. “I have a feeling it’ll probably come early. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling it will be in the first couple of weeks. That’s probably the best way to do it and get it over with and put it all behind us.”
How excited are you about the “Manning Bowl“? What games are you looking to see?
It really doesn’t matter to me. I’m ready for some football!
