Good Morning All! I know that I have been away from you for a minute, but I’m back! There has been so much going on with Jersey Girl, I believe that I am missing important sports news like Tiger playing in the Masters, McNabb possibly going to the Rams or the Raiders (aka the team where football players go to die), and the one that I am finally being able to catch up on, the Ben Roethlisberger foolishness.
Ok let me make sure that I got the basic facts on this one straight, while Roethlisberger was in Milledgeville, Ga. (btw…I leave in Georgia and don’t know anyone who wants to go there) he “supposedly” has some type of sexual contact in the bathroom with some girl. Later that night or earlier the next morning, the girl went to the police and accused Roethlisberger of rape. Days and days went by and the GBI nor the police were able to talk with Big Ben. Roethlisberger then hires the former attorney of Raven All-Pro Star, Ray Lewis, that got Lewis acquitted after being accused of stabbing a man to death at an Atlanta nightclub. There is a bodyguard who says that he did indeed block the door of the bathroom when Roethlisberger was in there, then there is a request to drop the desire to receive samples of Big Ben’s DNA, and the girl is refusing to talk to the police again. Now there are some reports that say that a settlement $$$$ has taken place. This is the second type of accusation that has been brought against Roethlisberger in two years. At the end of this dark cloud there is always a rainbow with a settlement filled with a pot of gold.
Now we’re finally getting to it, isn’t that the real point of this anyway. Now I am definitely not an advocate for rape or sexual abuse towards women, but these athletes have got to go a better job at picking your ‘side piece for the evening’. In the next few weeks, all will be forgotten and it will be another athlete in the news being accused of some crime of passion. Now I am not saying that these things don’t happen, but what I am saying is that this seems to be the trend.
Another great example is that on yesterday the misdemeanor charges against NFL Veteran, Warren Sapp, had been dropped sighting the reason that there were “too many” inconstant details in the accusor’s story of when Sapp allegedly chocked her. I don’t know about you, but if I was thrown to the ground like a rag doll and then chocked, I believe that I would know every detail of the story no matter how many times you ask me to repeat it.
All I’m saying is I’m tired of hearing about the countless legal problems dealing with these athletes and their mistresses. Moving forward, men just keep your dick in your pants and your feet on the field, and no one will ever have to accuse you of doing anything or being anywhere you’re not supposed to.
Until Monday…when I catch up with all that you might have missed over the last week in sports.
