Java’s War and Falling Sky, Jersey Girl Sports Favorite To Win the Kentucky Derby With Crown Royal
Who knew rooting for our favorite horses with Crown Royal in tomorrow’s Kentucky Derby would be so much fun.
Jersey Girl Sports has teamed up with Crown Royal to root for Falling Sky and Java’s War in tomorrow’s Kentucky Derby only seen on NBC starting at 4pm ET. Today and tomorrow we will posting updates and information about our horses using #ReignOn #FallyingSky #Derby and #ReignOn #Java’sWar #Derby on Facebook and Twitter. If one of or horses win, you will join us as our guest and receive VIP travel and accommodations to the Preakness or The Belmont Stakes later this year.
Now no Derby party would be complete without our favorite Crown Royal signature drink. While the Mint Julep has been the official drink for years, we thought we would introduce you to something new, Washington Apple.
Here’s how you make it…
- 1.25 oz. Crown Royal Deluxe Whisky
- 0.5 oz. of Apple Schnapps
- 2.5 oz. Cranberry Juice
- 1 Apple Slice
In addition to watching the Kentucky Derby for the horses, hats and the drinks, in partnership with the winningest jockey of all time, Laffit Pincay Jr., Crown Royal will donate $1 million to Thoroughbred Charities of America, a charitable organization that provides grants to non-profit organizations that work toward improving the lives of Thoroughbred racehorses and the people who work with them, if Pincay Jr. can accurately predict the top three finishers, in order, in each leg of the Triple Crown. With more than 9,500 victories and four Triple Crown race wins, Pincay Jr. looks to use his expertise in this area to help Crown Royal honor the greatness of those on and off the track, as well as encourage fans to always enjoy the races responsibly.
“This is such an innovative and fun way for Crown Royal to highlight what I believe is the most historic series of sporting events all year,” said Pincay Jr. “As someone who has almost taken home one of the trophies, I look forward to doing my best to predict the top three in an effort to give back to a tight knit community that has provided me so many memories throughout my career.”
To follow Pincay’s picks, consumers (21 and over) are encouraged to visit the Crown Royal Facebook page or follow #Pincays3 on Twitter. And if didn’t get a chance to see Pincay on Jimmy Kimmel Live as part of Kimmel’s on-going “Three Ridiculous Questions” segment. Here’s the funny segment with Laffit Pincay Jr…
“Crown Royal is always looking to recognize moments that captivate audiences and push them to achieve their own personal greatness,” said Abby Wise, Crown Royal Brand Director. “We are honored to have Laffit on board to help us further drive excitement surrounding some of the fastest and most anticipated minutes in sports to support such a worthy cause.”
So don’t forget to look for us tweeting and facebooking using #ReignOn #FallyingSky #Derby and #ReignOn #Java’sWar #Derby today and tomorrow to update you on our favorites to win the 139th Kentucky Derby, Falling Sky and Java’s War. And while we’re watching today’s Kentucky Oaks run and the Derby tomorrow we’ll be sipping on the Washington Apple, we seriously recommend that you try it. It’s Delicious!
As always please enjoy responsibly and Reign On!
