Jersey Girls, lose your belly fat!

While we all love a good game of football, there's nothing cute about looking like a linebacker. Amidst all the food and drinks during the NFL season, maintaining a healthy diet is a challenge at best. For most of us, a clear sign of the need to change what we're eating is the muffin top. Belly fat is a big reminder of our need to eat better and change our diet.

In an effort to understand how to slim down the midsection, we turned to one of our favorite Jersey Girls, physical trainer and lifestyle Coach Mike Conner to give us the REAL talk when it comes to belly fat.

Her website features blogs with great tips we can use. Regrding belly fat, Conner writes:

"Retaining fat around your midsection is often a sign of overeating and toxic buildup in your body’s system. Your body becomes toxic from processed foods, chemicals in the foods products you eat and your environment. One of the ways this happens is that your body retains fat in order to store the toxins so they are insulated from your organs. Detoxifying your body is a healthy first step towards ridding the body of toxins while losing that unwanted weight in your abdominal area. Let’s look at some simple steps you can take to clean up your life style and detoxify your system."

Eat organic foods

Minimize or eliminate processed and fast food

Eliminate refined (simple) sugar

Eliminate carbonated beverages and energy drinks

Drink pure, fresh water, start each day with a glass of warm water containing organic lemon
