Kobe Enters An Elite Club With 30,000 Points
It’s been an exciting week for Kobe Bryant by becoming the fifth player in NBA history to score 30,000 career points. Bryant scored on a short floating jump- shot against the New Orleans Hornets.
A few days ago Bryant was threatening to open “a can of whoop-azz” on his fellow teammates for their poor performance on the court, now he joins NBA greats Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Michael Jordan (32,292) and Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) in the 30,000 points + club.
Say what you will about Kobe, he has a strong will and desire to win and doesn’t ask more of his teammates than he asks or expects from himself. At age 34 playing in his 17th year in the league “The Black Mamba” is leading the league in scoring averaging 27.9 points a game.
“It’s a huge honor to say the least,” Bryant said earlier this week to ESPN as he approached the milestone. “Whenever you’re hearing those kind of names and you think about the amount of players that have played this game and to be in that kind of company, it’s always extremely, extremely special.”
That’s not all JG Fam, here’s a fun fact about KB…the man speaks fluent Italian, having grown up in Italy when his father Joe “Jellybean” Bryant was playing ball with Italian Professional Basketball Clubs.
Congratulazioni Kobe! We think you’re special too.
Sound off JG Family, should Kobe Bryant be considered one of the all-time great basketball players?
