If you’re a good player and ‘easy’ on the eyes, you’ll always have the option of a television career after football, and that’s the path that former Pittsburgh Steeler Hines Ward is taking.
This fall Ward will join NBC as an analyst for Sunday Night Football, plus appearing on Saturday college football studio shows on NBC and NBCSN. He’ll also do twice-weekly appearances on NBCSN’s Sports Talk weekday show, and making an appearance on the Super Bowl pregame show live from New Orleans in February 2013. With the bad ratings of NBC Sports, the network is hoping that Ward will be a part of the solution and not the problem.
It’s said that Ward will be with NBC veteran, Bob Costas, for Week 1’s Pittsburgh-Denver game and then again for Week 3 Pittsburgh-Baltimore game.
Ward retired from football earlier this year after the Steelers decided to part ways with their Hall of Fame bound player.
Good luck Hines!
