Just because Lindsey Vonn won’t be competing in the winter Olympic games in Sochi doesn’t mean she won’t be a part of the action. The Olympic gold medal skier will be covering the Olympics as a reporter for NBC. According to NBC:

She will cover how the athletes prepare physically and mentally for the Games, and she will share some of her favorite memories. After the official start of the Olympics, she will continue her reporting for TODAY and NBC Sports from the U.S.

Vonn is unable to compete due to a torn ACL, a knee she reinjured in November.

I think this is a good move for Vonn who really wanted to compete. Being able to cover the games from this angle is a nice fit since she knows and understands what athletes go through to prepare for the Olympics. It may also give her a unique and fresh perspective on her life after skiing.

What do you think?
