If you thought Magic Johnson was going to be the man to bring professional football back to LA, well think again.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Lakers great Magic Johnson said Friday he is part of a group hoping to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers. It seems that Johnson would reportedly join with former Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves executive Stan Kasten and financier Mark Walter, CEO of Guggenheim Partners, to make the deal happen.
"I love baseball," Johnson told the Times. "I've been a Dodgers fan and gone to the park many, many times."
Magic is just one of many celebrities that have made their interest known when it comes to purchasing the team. Earlier this week Larry King expressed interest, along with NBA Dallas Mavericks team owner Mark Cuban who announced his interest a couple of months ago.
Maybe if Magic doesn’t get a chance to purchase the Dodgers he can go back to lobbying to get a professional football team back in LA.
