New Orleans Hornets Sold to Saints’ Owner

The New Orleans Hornets have a new owner. David Aldridge of NBA.com is reporting the Hornets has been sold to current New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson for a reported $338 million. The New Orleans’ franchise has been under league control since December of 2010. Since George Shinn and Gary Chouest were given a reported $300 million by the league to relinquish their ownership stake, it has been a disaster to say the least. Back in December the league received a lot of flak when NBA commissioner David Stern overrode New Orleans GM Del Demps' decision to trade Chris Paul to the Lakers before allowing a deal with the Clippers to go through. Benson and his family have been great assets to the Saints organization; hopefully they will be able to instill some of that into the Hornets club. ‘ Your J.G.F., Marcelle English
