Since Jason Collins “came out” in an interview with Sports Illustrated confessing that he was gay, it seems everyone in the sports world has an opinion about gay athletes. Adrian Peterson is no exception.

In an interview with Sirius/XM NFL Radio, Peterson expressed his views when asked how he felt about he Vikings cutting longtime punter Chris Kluwe who was an outspoken advocate for gay rights and gay marriage: He said that he considered Kluwe a friend and added:

”I have relatives who are gay. I’m not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love ’em. But again, I’m not with that. That’s not something I believe in. But to each his own.”

Now before you get out your rainbow protest signs against Peterson, take a minute. As we are a country about inclusion and free speech, we have to be open to hearing the opinion of those who do not believe in and/or support gay marriage.

That’s OK too. As long as it doesn’t affect the game.

Personally, I don’t care who athletes sleep with. I just want my team to win.

What do you think?
