Maryland police say that the home of Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was burglarized and about $2,000 along with two guns were stolen. Police say that the crime occurred over the weekend. Rice was out of town, but a friend staying at the home reported the incident. For Ray Rice, the items taken don’t matter:

“My family and I are fine, which is the most important thing,” Rice said in a team-issued statement to USA TODAY Sports. “This is an unfortunate incident that I am dealing with through the proper channels.”

First it was Chris Bosh, now Ray Rice. While I still think Chris Bosh‘s incident was an “inside” job I think professional athletes have to be more careful with security of their homes and personal dwellings. The good news is that Ray Rice and his family are doing well.

In the mean time, I’m sure he’ll beef up security.
