NFL Veteran Loses Wife To Cancer Only After One Month of Marriage
After only being married for one month former NFL star Chris Draft lost his wife to cancer earlier this week.
Chris who is an 11 year NFL veteran married Keasha Rutelage whom he calls the love of his life in an intimate ceremony on November 27th in Atlanta. Unfortunately Keasha lost her battle with cancer on December 27th; one month to the date that the couple was married.
During their wedding Keasha used a wheelchair to meet her husband down the aisle and only took a few steps to say ‘I do’ and salute her husband.
Draft’s media manager, Sidmel Estes, confirmed the passing and stated that the services will be held in South Carolina on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Olu Brown, of Impact United Methodist Church in Atlanta, officiating. Also, Edwin Turnipseed, a support pastor at Impact, will participate in the ceremony.
Chris played for several NFL teams during his career, including the Bears, the Falcons, the Panthers and concluding his 12-year NFL run with the Washington Redskins in 2010.
Our thoughts and prayers are with their families during this time.
