After it was announced that the Seattle Seahawks were going to meet the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship on Sunday I’m sure many fans in the state of California were looking forward to buying tickets and rooting on either team. Well if your billing address is in the state of California, let me know how your ticket search is going.
The Seahawks announced that they are restricting sales to fans with billing addresses in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta. Other fans will have to resort to other means, like Ticketmaster, Stubhub or the man on the corner who has a sign that says tickets for sale.
Now this isn’t just happening on the west coast, the Denver Broncos announced that they will only sell AFC Championship tickets to fans in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota and Western Kansas.
This is an interesting take on marketing and sales, but I believe that Seattle won’t have any problem selling out that stadium.
