by Angela Davis |@ladyadavis |@jerseygirlsport What would make an NFL player who signed a $40M contract jeopardize that by beating and stomping a man that results in an arrest for assault? Well, that's a question for Raiders cornerback Sean Smith who did that to his sister's boyfriend. According to reports, he beat the man and stomped on his head in the early morning hours on July 4th. This is not Smith's first brush with the law. He was convicted of a DUI from a car crash in 2014. Smith's attorney, Daniel Rosenberg, says he's innocent and will fight the charges. If convicted, Smith could serve up to seven years in state prison. I think this is something personal. I believe it's probably domestic in nature as it relates to his sister. Either way, he needs to clear these charges so it doesn't impact his career--if it hasn't already.
