When an NFL player has any kind of “off the field” incident, it’s just a matter of time before he will have to go to the “principal’s office” — commissioner Roger Goodell, that is. It seems Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice and his wife Janay Palmer Rice met with Goodell to discuss the incident that took place at an Atlantic City hotel and casino in March of this year.

I’m sure they explained that is was all a “misunderstanding” and wasn’t as bad as the media portrayed…yeah right! I’m sure they apologized and “accepted full responsibility” for their actions.

Ray Rice is going to be suspended, no doubt about it. I’m sure this meeting was to hopefully gain some leverage on the length of his suspension, which will most likely be from 2-5 games given this was his first off the field incident.

I hope they can get it together. While meeting with Goodell is good, meeting with a marriage counselor is much better overall for sustaining what appears to be a very volatile relationship.
