Saints Showing Interest In Romeo Crennel

Romeo, Romeo, where art thou Romeo???? Maybe in New Orleans. Sean Payton has been reinstated as head coach of New Orleans and is looking to turn around the Saints dismal defense ranked 31st in the league; rumor has it that he is looking to ex-Kansas City Chiefs head coach, Romeo Crennel as defensive coordinator.  He has proven credentials as a defensive coordinator and may be just what the Saints need. With Crennel as their defensive coordinator the New England Patriots won three Super Bowls, and his work with the Chiefs' defense is what earned him a promotion to head coach when Todd Haley was fired in 2011. The Saints have more to turn around then a dismal defense, they also need serious PR after the Bounty Scandal , Crennel’s reputation as a well-respected coach in the league would go a long way in helping to repair the team’s image. Eric Mangini has also been mentioned as someone the Saint's are giving a hard look with reports that Mangini and Crennel could both be on the Saints staff serving separate roles. Mangini and Crennel have worked together before on the Patriots staff. Crennel had a tough year last year as the Kansas City Chief’s head coach including witnessing the sad ending to troubled linebacker Jovan Belcher’s life as he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head. The New Orleans Saints had a rough season and didn't even make it to the playoffs; this could be a win-win situation and fresh start for everyone involved. What say you Jersey Girl Sports Fam? Would the Saints be smart to hire Crennel? Can Romeo bring some love to the Saints horrific defense? Your Jersey Girlfriend, Tatia Harris
