School of hard knocks: Former Miami Dolphins receiver beat son unconscious

JACKSONVILLE, FL (AP) ~Former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mark Duper was arrested for beating his 17 year-old son Marcus unconscious during a series of altercations in their Jacksonville home. Duper was arrested and Jacksonville police say Duper spent the night in jail before posting a $5,000 bail. He was released Thursday afternoon. Police allege Duper started the fights with his son, twice knocking him out. Former Dolphins defensive end Hugh Green said he witnessed the brawls and that Marcus Duper started the fight and his father acted in self-defense. Now, I'm old school, so I'm not so sure this is a case of abuse. I think the facts will come out in this case and I wouldn't be surprised if 17 year-old Marcus started "smelling" himself and decided he could "take" his 54 year-old father. Think again son! It seems dad is 'old school' and is of the school of hard knocks--literally. If you step to him like a man, you'll get treated like one. Seriously, whatever the truth, I hope they can heal their relationship. Both of their futures depend on it. Your Jersey Girlfriend, ~Angela Davis
