When most athletes talk about their post career aspirations most say broadcasting others may open a business, but you don’t hear many say that hey want to own an NFL team.

Super Bowl champion and two-time Pro Bowler, Russell Wilson are setting his sights on his next goal…owning an NFL team.

“I want to be an owner of a team one day, whether it’s baseball or football,” Wilson said Tuesday in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. “Maybe even both.”

“For me, I’d love to get around to as many people as I can,” said Wilson, a third-round draft choice by Seattle in 2012. “Because at the end of the day, I want to learn as much as I can so that way, in my future — down the road after playing 20 years hopefully for the Seahawks — I can do that.”

“The biggest thing is networking, first of all, and doing your job well,” Wilson said. “Whenever you do something, do it the best that you possibly can and produce all the time — whether it’s playing football or communicating.”

If Wilson makes it to this elite club of former players to own teams he won’t be alone, he’ll be listed with the likes of Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and David Beckham.

Russell – why not you! See you in the owner’s box.
