If there was ever any question of whether Atlanta Falcons’s Tony Gonzalez was going to return for another season, we got out answer. After an amazing football career that is sure to put him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Tony Gonzalez will join the football pre-game show at CBS `The NFL Today’.
After learning that Gonzalez was joining the show, we also found out that Dan Marino and Shannon Sharpe would be leaving.
“Having just stepped off the playing field, Tony brings a fresh and insightful perspective,” CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus said. “As a future Hall of Famer, we are excited for him to share his knowledge, experiences and opinions with our viewers. Tony was one of the most respected and hardworking players in the NFL and a tremendous teammate.
“We look forward to him bringing these attributes to CBS Sports.”
