Skylar Diggins repping Air Force 1s shows the business of sports is sexy

Skylar Diggins is the new face of Air Force 1's. The sexy WNBA guard for the Tulsa Shock is now repping the brand bringing a refreshing new look to the usually heavily male-dominated marketing focus. Roc Nation Sports posted the advertising pic with the verbiage 
“Upping my style game with #AF1. See you soon Chicago! #wincity.”
It seems Jay-Z and Roc Nation Sports is making good on its promise to step up the marketing game for their professional athlete clients, and I like it. Seeing a woman in sports apparel in a very "girly" way is a great way to appeal to women who enjoy sports, but may not necessarily be athletic.  Women watch sports. They make up over 40% of all fans across all major sports, and are often ignored in advertising. Sports advertising usually focuses on the female athlete, ignoring the more prevalent "regular" woman who also enjoys sporting events. Seeing Skylar Diggins is a great example of how sports apparel brands can appeal to all women. It's a great reminder that we can enjoy the game like a man and look like a woman.
