(PICS) WTH are they wearing?!? Fashion fouls and funnies at NBA All-Star

The NBA All-Star game and events is more than just basketball. It’s celebrity, entertainment and yes, fashion. Long gone are the slick suits and clean-cut personas. NBA ballers look more like rock stars or big nerds (also called ‘Geek Chic’) when it comes to fashion, and whether you consider their ensembles fouls or slam dunks, their choice of threads will definitely keep you looking.

Here’s some of the fashion pics courtesy of USA Today.  We just couldn’t stop watching–or figuring out. What do you think?

These are just some of the more flashy outfits at the NBA All-Star game and, as usual, it seems we have repeat offenders. I guess this is a “style” but it seems it is more like a need to be different and express a unique sense of fashion.

The irony is that they’re all starting to look the same. Then again, we are looking.

NBA Lockout Sticks Around but NBA Stars Plan 2-Week Tour

No, there hasn’t been any change with the NBA lockout.  It’s still on, but it seems that some of the NBA’s brightest are tired of sitting at home doing nothing.

Some of the league’s top players are in the final stages of the planning a two-week exhibition tour during what would have been the first two weeks of the regular season, according to sources. Sources go on to say that final details are still being worked out, but it seems that more than a dozen of the league’s best players are working to join forces on what would be a two-week, six-game blockbuster tour, very similar to the US Olympic Dream Team days.

The players that are said to be involved include Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Rajon Rondo, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Carlos Boozer, Paul Pierce and Kevin Love. Kevin Durant and Kevin Garnett, among a few others, are also contemplating joining the tour.

This is something that has been in the works for the last couple of months headed up by Atlanta business mogul, Calvin Darden, who has been working with the players’ agents to make this tour happen.

Now don’t think that these guys are doing this for free, the players will be paid, receiving salaries ranging from six figures up to $1 million and some of the money generated by the tour will be donated to charity.

Now many of the games will be played out of the U.S. but it’s sure to give some NBA fans a small fix until the NBA season gets underway.
