by Angela Davis/@jerseygirlsport Spring is here and love is in the air. If you have been in the “winter of discontent” the past few months, it's time for a newer, better you! Many of us are working out to get slimmer for the summer and cleaning out our closets of junk and items our boyfriends left behind. My dear, sweet jersey girlfriends (JGFs), you should be excited about the spring season! Not only because it brings on the start of the baseball season, but because spring opens the door to many dating-friendly sports that are sure to bring some sunshine in your social life. Here are my top five dating-friendly sports during the spring: 1. Baseball: The pace of the game lays the foundation for a nice first date. Because it’s not minute-to-minute action like basketball or football, the noise level will be low and you can actually have a nice conversation with your date and get to know him. If you’re not familiar with all the aspects of the game, you can ask questions without interrupting his focus. An open stadium in great weather makes for a date worth remembering. 2. Tennis: Now, if you've been dating someone for a while or if your first date finds you with someone who’s a bit competitive and doesn't mind sweating, then tennis is for you. Jersey girls, not only can you impress and excite him by wearing a cute tennis outfit, but you can wow him with your skills and athleticism. Most men appreciate healthy competition---just make sure he isn't a sore loser. Up the ante—bet on something fun! 3. Kickball: Now, I know this seems strange, but I think this is ideal for couples who want to bring in some excitement and reignite the spark in their relationship. Joining a co-ed kickball team in your city is a GREAT way to have some fun. Not only will you get out of the house to do something totally out of your comfort zone, you’ll be doing something together. Winning is good. Winning with your life partner is amazing! 4. Golf: This is another competitive sport just without all the sweat. The good news is that most people are below average players, and even if the guy can really play well he’ll enjoy being your teacher. Here again, golf allows you to wear something sports-sexy and comfortable. You can enjoy some great quality time without the distraction of other fans, and you can get to his “sweet spot”. Top the day off with a nice lunch to recap a great game. 5. Basketball: Proceed with caution with this sport. This is not my pick for a first date. Basketball is a very fast game with tons of action. This is a nice game for couples who are in relationship, OR if you both are fans of the same team and will go out to dinner before or grab drinks after the game. IF that’s the case, then you’ll enjoy sharing excitement. Ladies, a great pair of jeans, a cute t-shirt and nice shoes will make him glad to have you on his arm. There’s so much to the lifestyle of sports! Ladies, use it to your advantage. Spring is here! Change your look. Update your style. Hit the scene a fabulous you---Jersey Girl style!
