Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick is set to wed longtime girlfriend and fiancee Kijafa (Kee-yah-fah) Frank at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach on June 30th. Sources say the couple’s guest list includes Vick mentor and former Colts and Buccaneers coach Tony Dungy, Eagles coach Andy Reid, Vick’s NFL superagent Joel Segal, Eagles running back LeSean McCoy and other teammates. Fashion-loving Frank co-owns accessories line and boutique PNK Elephant.
Mike and Kijafa have been together for years and she stuck by him through his dog fighting scandal, his stint in jail and his redemption. They have two children Jada and London, Â and this wedding is long over-due!
When we spoke with Kijafa, she hinted the wedding would be this year and that she has been the holdup with planning the affair. When you read her story about her life with Michael Vick you can feel her love for him. She’s no groupie. Kijafa is here to stay.
In a private ceremony, the Super Bowl XLVI champs, the New York Giants, received their much anticipated Super Bowl rings.
The rings are embedded with Tiffany diamonds and encrusted with sapphires. Each ring features four Marquis diamonds in four Lombardi trophies (to represent the franchise’s four titles), 37 blue sapphires and the dates of each Super Bowl title in franchise history. The inside of the rings include the words “finish” and “all in,” psych-up words used by the team during its 2011 title run. The shanks have the score of this year’s victory over the New England Patriots, the player’s name and number, and the dates of New York’s other Super Bowl triumphs.
The players had a hand in the design of the ring, and this year, they wanted the color blue added in. “The blue makes it a little different,” Eli Manning said. “We wanted some blue — the Giants are Big Blue. We definitely wanted to get a little blue to spark it up a little bit.”
I think the rings look classy, and while they don’t have as much “bling” appeal as some past rings, I think it’s fitting for a team who wants to exhibit a little class and style to go with their championship.
Your JGF,

It seems a sorry excuse for a human being broke into the home of former NFL player Junior Seau–just five days after his death. The would-be NFL Hall of Famer died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and this event just added the pain his family has to endure.
The perps broke into the garage and stole a bike that belonged to a friend of Seau’s. The bike was valued around $500. In the wake of the terrible tragedy and loss of a great athlete and beloved father, son and friend, this crime leaves a bitter taste in our mouths.
Shame on the idiot or idiots who committed this crime. Any crime is bad, but the timing and target of this one makes us all shake our heads in disgust.
Now many of you who know me know that I’m not a Lakers fan, I prefer…well that’s not really important, but what is important is that fact that Los Angeles Lakers are 0-2 in the Western Conference semi-finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Are the Lakers the mighty team that we thought they were? Or is the better question, is the OKC Thunder this season’s golden child, a position held by the Dallas Mavericks during last season’s playoff run.
During both games of the 2-0 run by the Thunder, the team has trailed during the last 2 ½ minutes in the 4th quarter. Last night Kevin Durant scored 22 points and the Thunder scored the final nine points to rally for a 77-75 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2.
Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum scored 20 points apiece for the Lakers, who came up empty on their last six possessions after Bynum’s hook shot made it 75-68 with 2:09 remaining.
Now I know many Laker fans are going to bring up the fact that the franchise has several championship rings, but as Janet Jackson would sing “What Have You Done For Me Lately”.
I’m not sure if the Lakers will be able to pull this one out after reviewing the sloppy defensive play from each games last couple of minutes, but I’m still excited about the possibilities of a Kobe vs. LeBron Finals. Nonetheless, credit has to be given where credit is due, Kevin Durant and the OKC Thunder have provided NBA fans an exciting season.
As you know (unless you’ve been living under a rock) Deion Sanders is involved in a nasty divorce battle with his estranged wife Pilar Sanders.
