The Williams’ Sisters are back together again!
Later this week, Venus Williams will be paired up to play her sister, Serena, in her first match since her medical leave. Venus pulled out of the U.S. Open earlier this year because she was diagnosed with Sjogren’s syndrome, an illness that affects energy levels and causes fatigue and joint pain.
“I did a lot of medical therapy and a serious evaluation of my diet to understand which foods help control the symptoms better,” Venus told Italian news outlet the Gazzetta. “And that’s why I’ve completely changed my diet and filled it with a lot of vegetables. In the meantime, I’ve continued to keep myself fit with tennis and in the gym. I’m very confident in my progress.”
Venus and Serena will play in an exhibition match in Columbia on Wednesday and will pair up again on Dec. 3 in Milan against Italy’s Francesca Schiavone and Flavia Pennetta.
So happy to hear that Venus is doing better…you go Jersey Girl!
