It was bound to happen. Warren Sapp forgets his mic is on (or the audio guy forgot to turn it off) and he is heard cursing during the NFL Network for their once again discussion of newcomer Scott Pioli’s affiliation with New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick saying:

“It’s the same [expletive] spew (?) we had Mike Lombardi doing: The [expletive] Bill Belichick [expletive] angle.”

Jersey Girl Sports fam, the number one rule in television, especially in broadcast television is “your mic is ALWAYS on”. It is this understanding that is supposed to keep on-air personalities in check and prevent them from saying something they would not want the public to hear.

Apparently Sapp didn’t get the memo.

In the meantime, the NFL Network issued an apology saying:

“Before we give you the news of the day, we want to offer an apology. Last night during some live programming, we accidentally aired an expletive. It will not happen again. So our sincerest apology to Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots, the Patriots family, Robert Kraft and his entire family. A classy organization out there. Once again, it’s not who we are, it’s not what we do and it will not happen again.”

Or at least we won’t be hearing it.

This just begs the question: If a Sapp makes a comment and nobody hears it, does he make a sound?
