Congratulations to Will Smith and his beautiful wife, Jada Pinkett Smith who are now part owners of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Following in the footsteps of other celebrities like Usher and Jay-Z it seems that Will and Jada joined a group of investors led by multi-billionaire Joshua Harris to buy the NBA team from Comcast-Spectacor, according to CSN Philly.

At a press conference Tuesday morning, Harris announced the new ownership via press release: “It is an honor to become part of this storied franchise. We have a lot of work to do, but we have a rich history, a strong foundation and a bright future.”

As you may know Philadelphia holds a special place in Will’s heart being that’s where he was born and raised.

Sixers players seem to be happy with the actor’s involvement in the team. Guard Evan Turner posted his Twitter: “I think it’s dope that the fresh prince is one of our new owners. Maybe Willow can perform at halftime.”

Hopefully the lockout will end soon and we can get back to action!
